The Relationship Between Math and Technologies

The interaction between technology and math has a strong impact on students learning and performance in math classes. Technology that is thoughtful can be a way to engage students in their learning process, offer personalized experiences and help diverse learners.

Mathematical hardware and software such as graphing calculators, spreadsheets, and dynamic geometry environments let students explore mathematics in a dynamic, engaging and visually appealing way. It also allows them to perform calculations quickly and efficiently that are difficult or time-consuming using traditional pencil and paper methods. Students who make use of ICT in order to understand complex concepts from other subjects often gain an understanding of the subjects and also the ability to apply their knowledge to real-world problems.
